HACKNEY TOWN HALL WEDDING WEDDING
Still unsure if you’re fully onboard with the concept of a micro wedding? If you’re in need of convincing then take a look at Olivia and Joe’s wedding photos. Joe and Olivia had an intimate Hackney Town Hall ceremony followed by a stroll to their local cafe in Stoke Newington to eat and drink with their closest friends and family. Could there be a more perfect way to celebrate a wedding?
MICRO WEDDING AT HACKNEY TOWN HALL
I met Joe and Olivia on the steps of Hackney Town Hall. One of my favourite London Town Halls. Situated just near London Fields and a short walk away from Hackney Central Stations this impressive art deco building has been a working town hall for 82 years. The 1930’s interiors have recently undergone a major refurbishment including an impressive art glass roofed atria. The design and architecture of this town hall makes a great backdrop for any wedding large or small. I got some great shots of them both outside in front of the sand stone coloured bricks whilst they waited to be called for the ceremony.
SHOOTING COUPLE PORTRAITS
After some colourful confetti shots and group photos on the steps of the town hall I took a stroll to the reception with Olivia and Joe. Walking between venues is a great chance for a couple to get some fresh air and take a breather before moving on to the next chapter of the day. It’s also the perfect opportunity to shoot some portraits. The streets of Stoke Newington are always a photogenic backdrop and being on foot means we can stop off anywhere that catches our eye. It also adds a sense of movement and fluidity to couple portraits that can sometimes be tricky to achieve otherwise. Having the chance to walk and move about can also help relieve any nervous energy you have stored up if you’re nervous in front of the camera! We even managed to squeeze in some great family shots too after stopping by to pick their son up from nursery!
MICRO WEDDING RECEPTION AT ESTERS
When the owners of Esters, Olivia and Joe’s local cafe, offered for them to host their wedding reception there they jumped at the chance. Having their wedding reception play out in a local venue thats so familiar to them made the day feel even more laid back and informal. Guests sat and chatted whilst sipping prosecco and tucked into the colourful spread the cafe had laid on.
